Day Eight: Kapalua Bay, Fishies & Turtles!

Good Morning Maui!
I feel blessed waking up to this view everyday!

The moon shining on the water while the sky is lighting up and turning beautiful shades of pink and red is breathtaking!

One of my little Doves came for some morning cheese crackers...

These two pictures are of Nohonani, next door to Kulakane.
(Some more pics for you to enjoy, Marie)

This morning I decided I needed to get pictures of all the flowers at
Kulakane that I had not yet photographed...
They are just so lovely, I really enjoyed how nicely manicured it is there.

Very nice area for grilling... B. spent a lot of time here.

A nice little herb garden that guests are free to use.

A healthy alternative to sandwiches at the beach; I took a tuna salad
with us everyday; simply used olive oil and olive juice for
dressing and kept it in a cooler.
Apples are a great choice to replace chips.

If you are thinking enough with the birds already... you are reading the
wrong blog; I love them and they find me wherever I go.

I love B.'s crazy eyes look!

...a little packing tip; don't assume you have packed anything.
I had to take this picture for my friend who mailed me my
swim suit that had been left at home in a laundry basket.
Check your list twice and check it a few more times after that, no checking anything off unless you physically see it in the suitcase.

Now for some snorkeling, we had a great time here, saw lots of fishies
and two turtles as well!

I talked to my good friend, the Urban Corn Princess (you know, the Octopus Whisperer's Mom) and she told me about
a little turtle who lives under a clump of coral in Kapalua Bay.
Sure enough, we found a big clump of coral and spotted him at the bottom.
We watched as he swam up for air, swam around just a minute
or so and then returned to the bottom of the sea.
He is the smallest turtle we saw, very cute!

I saw this sort of cave and swam around to get a look down there and sure enough here is another turtle, much larger one though.
He came swimming right up toward me and I had to try to swim away
from him; he got some air and headed right back down.

Have a mentioned what a great guy I have?

A couple House Sparrows, are they ever lucky to live here!
If my sparrows at home only knew...

It's like in the grand design of things the sunsets were staged to be
more spectacular each day as our trip progressed...

I love when a sailboat shows up at the just the right time to enhance
an already fantastic sunset.

Next up: Deep Sea fishing for B. and a solo morning for me.
