In the middle of nowhere with no place to be...
Paradise...
This is worth waking up early for... I would not want to wake up late and miss it.
The colors in the morning sky can be stunning not to mention watching the the ocean turn more and more blue as the sky gets lighter and lighter.
I know these little guys are glad I am a morning person.
"Could we have some cheese crackers, please?"
We started out our day by heading to Honolua Bay, just watch for greeter;
he will be the one with the long tail feathers and talons.
The walk back to Honolua Bay is one of my favorite places on Maui, the foliage is amazing to me so I have included a lot of photos..
After walking the beautiful trail you get the surprise of this amazing view!
We like to walk along the rocks toward the right side of the bay to enter in for
snorkeling, I think many people like entering at the ramp that is right where you are when you get to the bay; it is personal preference. If you go on the rocks be very careful; they can be very slippery getting in and out of the water and also when walking across the rocks take your time, many rocks are pretty loose.
Finally! More Fishies!
These next 8 photos are all the same big blue fish, he was probably about 25lbs, really cool looking and we followed him for a long time. He was pretty deep
so hard to get pictures of him, some are edited to try and show his
color better but hard to zoom them in because they were taken so far away.
This guy looks like he was having a good day!
Just posing amongst the foliage I love.
I love looking up to the sky through the tops of the trees.
What really gets me about this is that these are house plants here on the mainland and they are just growing wild here in the jungle.
It is just really cool to me, and makes me happy.
After spending a nice long time at Honolua Bay we headed to Napili Bay next.
We had never been here before except to see it when we were at
Sea House the night before. It is a beautiful spot, the water
was so many shades of blue, a very pretty sight to walk up on!
Sorry to say, I forgot my underwater camera in my beach bag when we went snorkeling; when I realized it I had my flippers on already and really
did not want to go back to get it so we just enjoyed the fish
without a camera, I saw an eel and wished I could have photographed him but it was still a really good time just watching.
We snorkeled and hung out on the beach and ate lunch.
When we got back "home" we still just really wanted more beach and water time and headed to the little beach to our North and found lots of
fun shells and sea glass, they are fun to look at with our granddaughters.
I went over to sit with my feet in the pool and ran into another guest at the condos and we visited for what seemed like forever.
I did not even realize that B. had started our dinner, we were having surf and turf, the end of our Mahi Mahi, burgers and sweet potatoes.
Yum! Delivered to me on the lanai! ...good service!
Well, dinner was over, we had visited and snorkeled two bays, we hunted a beach for sea glass and shells and I wasted away an afternoon visiting.
ALL before sunset! It felt like the longest day ever, like several days, really.
...and to top it off perfectly in Maui style, another perfect sunset.
...up next Black Rock
