Day Five: Swap Meet & Saying Goodbye

It's Saturday! Time to hit the Maui Swap Meet!

I was up before dawn and ready to go; Brian was going to drop Teri off and she was going to the Swap Meet with me and B.
I took a walk down to Farmers Market pretty early to pick up a few things.

My favorite place to shop.

It stormed the night before and I walked through the park to see some of the stuff blown down in the night.

I wonder how long that kite was up there??

I couldn't be at the park and not walk along the ocean, it was simply a wonderful morning for a walk.

I was standing here taking pictures and B. called me to tell me there was a huge rainbow over the ocean at the condo... what do you know, I just wasn't looking up enough; I actually would have missed it if he hadn't called.

I headed back down the street to Kulakane and decided to take this time to photograph some of the beautiful flowers I have been walking by everyday.

I am also a huge fan of all the foliage on Maui!

The rest are taken at Kulakane.

This was my favorite Hibiscus of the trip, it was just a door down
in front of our condo.

Just a few minutes after I got home Brian and Teri arrived!

We had a great visit before we said goodbye to Brian and the
three of us headed to Kahului for the Swap Meet.
What did we ever do without smartphones and GPS,
I just Googled Maui Swap Meet and we followed the directions.

Poor B., we could not have talked more or been any sillier on the drive.
He had to keep reminding me I was the navigator when we
were getting closer.

We really had a great time, we were at the Swap Meet for several hours and did some fun shopping. Teri and I shopped together for some friends and that was so special; we were able to pick out something to share that was from two of us and would remind our good friends of Maui while they are at home.

B. went and ate but we kept shopping, we just got some apple bananas at a stand to eat.

We once again had so much fun we forgot about taking pictures; I do have a picture though of the jewelry B. bought for me.
I have the best guy, he was so patient with us that day AND I got a present!

Oh, we also bought sandals, Teri had got a pair here the week before and I loved them so I tried on a pair and also TB4 had tried on Teri's before she had to leave and had also asked Teri to get her a pair.

Here is what Teri's looked like.

And here are mine. I have worn them around the house now at home and they are so comfy. They are made from recycled tires, nylon and hemp.

This is their card, just a note that if you buy more than one pair they will give you a nice discount.

When we left there we headed to WalMart, I wanted to get a crock pot for our condo and thought we would find one there. No deal, the least expensive one they had was still more than we wanted to spend.
B. called me from the car though and asked me if I wanted to get a hair dryer, the one at the condo was not working; I was able to get a new one for 10.00 and we just left it there so the next folks would have one that worked.

Teri bought some Mauna Loa Dark Chocolate covered Macadamias, B. was hooked, she gave him a bag and they did not last long; we found some on sale another day at Long's and he got a few more bags.

We drove back West and once again talked B.'s ear off.
At least once we were out of Kahului he didn't need me to navigate anymore and we could just be silly and enjoy our little time we had left to hang out.

We both had been wanting to go to Binky's so Teri called to see if Brian thought she had time to go there, since they were leaving that night.
It worked out great, Bruce dropped us off at Binky's and I told him I would just walk home. Brian said he would come to pick Teri up they could get carry out from the Fish Market.

It was very exciting getting to Binky's and then meeting Robin, the owner.
She was a true sweetheart and we wished we had more time to visit and shop.

She had a wonderful customer who was kind enough to take our picture.
I thought with two weeks left I would make it back to see her but
sadly it did not happen; I will go see her when I am back in September.

I said my final goodbyes to Teri and Brian... so I thought... and headed home.

I hung out in the yard with my birdie friends and B. grilled a fantastic dinner,
we eat on Maui early just like at home.

I love having my own personal chef! The grilled sweet potatoes were new, he found out that Brian and Teri grill the and then he started doing them for me.
He is basically the best guy ever!

Well, then the phone rang... it was Teri and they were trying to return their snorkel gear in the drop box and could not get it open, so they wanted to drop it off to us and have us return it the next day. We were fine with that and I was pretty excited to get those last couple unexpected Iowa hugs!!!!

I have just a few sunset pictures to share and that pretty much sums up our day, it was a great one... as they all are here.

ahhhhh.....

To sign out today I will share with you a picture I took of a sign at the Swap Meet.
...words to live by
